Abby was introduced to yoga through chanting and meditation at age eleven.
At eighteen, She was invited to Encinitas, California where she spent several days chanting and meditating with Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, who had walked the path under the guidance of Guru Swami Baba Muktananda. As an adult Abby was introduced to asana practice and fell in love with the Ashtanga method. After completing her first teacher training in 2003, Abby continued to study the Jivamukti Method with founders David Life and Sharon Gannon in New York. Abby received blessings from David and Sharon as a certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher in 2005.

Dave has been practicing and studying yoga since 1998. His physical practice has been developed under the guidance of native Detroit teachers Veronica Zador and Linda Kay. Dave’s philosophical yoga practices are rooted in the teachings of Ram Dass, Bhagavan Das, Godfrey Devereux, Mark Whitwell and Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Dave has taught thousands of classes over the past 12 years in the Detroit area and continues to teach the delicate balance of physical and subtle,
masculine and feminine as a method to experience a vibrant, happy life.

Together Abby and Dave are co-directors of House of Yoga in Berkley, MI.
Over the past 7 years they have led numerous trainings and Yoga Lifestyle programs. Abby and Dave are both E-RYTs, Experienced Yoga Teachers registered with Yoga Alliance, each with over 2000 hours of teaching experience. In 2011, both received blessings from Mark Whitwell as certified Heart of Yoga Teachers, to transmit the yoga teachings of Krishnamacharya, considered to be the Teacher of the teachers.

In addition, Abby and Dave believe in the power of sacred sound, chant and vibration. They have hosted kirtan events with Krishna Das, Bhagavan Das, Girish and many others. Abby and Dave created a kirtan group “Vishnu Blue” and play music for yoga classes, kirtans and other spiritual events.
